- A color is made up of sets of colors
- An 8-BIT image has 256 levels (or combinations) of color
- An RGB image has 3 8-BIT sets of grey with color shown through
it.
- 256 levels of red
- 256 levels of green
- 256 levels of blue
- this provides 16 millon colors

- The Image size window has two parts
- The top part is the input. It displays the raw material or
pixel dimensions
- The bottom part is the output. This shows how the data will
be printed.
- tip - always leave the scale and constant proportion on
- tip - when making an image smaller, resample should be
set to bicubic sharper
- 5 Activity - resize
- download the sunflower picture (See

- resize the image smaller - 4 steps to follow
- turn resample off
- choose a resolution - usually between 150 and 300 dpi
- turn resample back on
- type in a width or heigth
- pixel information will be lost if these steps aren't followed.
- never do this to size up!

- choose the area to crop and apply it using one of three

- click and drag a line accross the angled top
- choose iamge - rotate canvas - arbitrary
