AP English 3 aims to deliver a classical rhetoric course by way of an ambitiously wide variety of   writing styles.  The core skills of the course are

        *ARGUMENTATION

        *RHETORICAL ANALYSIS

        *INQUIRY INTO TRUTH

I’ve chosen each of the works listed above as a launching point for a host of related essays, letters, speeches, poems, stories, and projects.

To succeed on the AP English Language Exam, you must develop the ability to craft a compelling argument and to discern and assess the methods by which an author has crafted his.  But to succeed in the true scope of this course, which includes but is not limited to passing the AP Exam, you must develop sound judgment, or as Plato says, “to say of what is, that it is; and of what is not, that it is not.”
